In honor of letter Q, I found inspiration from Anna Quindlen, a writer of columns, essays, novels.
The first quote is just for fun.
Women who marry early are often overly enamored of the kind of man who looks great in wedding pictures and passes the maid of honor his telephone number.
The second quote is for any of you out there who are striving to look honestly at yourself and say, hell yeah, that’s me!
The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.
Quindlen wrote one of my favorite novels, Blessings. It presents the story of Lydia Blessings, the retired owner of the Blessings estate, and her young caretaker Skip Cuddy. When Skip finds a baby asleep in a box and decides to keep her, he finds companionship and the unexpected help of his boss, Lydia.
I found the book at my local library. But you can find it at Amazon, too.

Cheers! Enjoy the holiday weekend.
